In loving Memory of
Mary Jane Carvel
who passed on Sunday, September 19, 2010.

Mary Jane was married to Vincent Carvel in 1942; Vincent died in WWII.  Mary Jane never remarried and never had kids; however, she loved her nieces, nephews and dogs as if they were her own children.

Beyond her obvious outer beauty and sharp mind, Mary Jane had a heart as big as her smile.  Mary Jane’s vision was to create a sanctuary for God's creatures who had been abandoned or abused and needed a safe haven.

I was saddened to hear of Ms. Carvel's passing this weekend.  She was a remarkable woman with a passion for all living things, in particular dogs.  My remembrance of her will always be a portrait of her that hung in her home of her a her five beloved Maltese dogs.

I deeply regret that she will not be here to see our shared vision for rebuilding the Sanctuary come to fruition.
